METAL MIKE And SCHOOL OF ROCK Join Forces For 'Metal Mill' Heavy Metal Guitar And Bass Program
November 21, 2012HALFORD guitarist and Guitar World magazine columnist "Metal" Mike Chlasciak has partnered with the Wayne, New Jersey location of School Of Rock to bring "Metal Mill" guitar and bass program.
"Metal Mill" is a specialty program designed for metal players of all ages and levels who look to develop their skills and further understand the techniques and ideas used in heavy metal.
Each uniquely themed session takes place on the second Saturday of each month and offers each participant a one on one lesson with Metal Mike as well as the chance to partake in an end-of-the-day metal jam based around the ideas taught during each "Metal Mill" session.
Metal Mike commented on the new venture: "I love the idea of 'Metal Mill'. First, we wanted to offer metal players a chance to have a clean and supportive place they can look forward to meeting, hanging out and learning about the music they love. That's awesome in itself. Second, during each session students can sharpen their skills on various topics and also study the music of their favorite artists. To reinforce, each day we crescendo in a killer band jam where everyone has a chance to play and hang out. To boot, 'Metal Mill' is open to non-School Of Rock students as well. We will also be offering especially themed days such as the music of JUDAS PRIEST, Randy Rhoads, METALLICA and the like.
"I believe we all wished we had something like this when we were growing up. Well, now we can and I am very psyched to do my part in teaching and defending heavy metal."
The next "Metal Mill" session takes place on Saturday, December 8.
